Schools Programme

Beckton Skills Centre (BSC) offer training and support to school age young people including those with a learning disability (on a one to one basis).  Programmes are designed to engage with learners who might not be reaching their potential in a school environment and motivate them to progress with further study. Generally our success is due to the courses being 80% practical work in small groups and often one to one

Learners do not need any previous experience, just an interest in learning new practical skills. Attendance can be  1 - 4 days per week. If desirable learners can work towards a City & Guilds qualifications in Motor mechanics, employability or functional skills or alternatively, they might attend to develop communication skills along side improving practical skills and problem solving. Each learner has their programme tailored to their particular needs and interests, thereby ensuring the best possible outcome.

Progression routes have included Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship (which BSC also offer), full or part time college courses or employment
